Young Filmmakers for Development

The Young Filmmakers for Development session, included in the We The Peoples Film Festival 2008, takes place on Saturday, 29 November, at the National Film Theatre - see Festival Programme for details.

This innovative programme, bringing together people interested in the power of film and in raising awareness about development issues, is a real first.

Those wishing to attend should contact schools@wethepeoples.org.uk

The programme includes:

  • Peer Group screenings: London schools will be invited to view the best films and participate in their own panel-led sessions.
  • Development issues workshop: Participants will meet leading directors and producers experienced in development issues.
  • Recognition: Commendations will be awarded to young filmmakers by the festival’s sponsors.
  • Strengthening Agency Partnerships: Young filmmakers will meet with leading international development and human rights agencies; possibly leading to new independent commissions.
