2013 PresentaPitch and #Tweetapitch
Sunday 1st September, 2013

We are delighted to announce that the 2013 PresentaPitch and #Tweetapitch competition is now open for entries. Last year you may remember that we ran a pitching competition at the festival in partnership Your World View, for 15-25 year olds. We were astounded by the entries and live pitches from our finalists and in the end Kate Arno won with her pitch for documentary born behind the wall which follows the experiences of two pregnant women in Palestine.

This year, we are offering a grant of £500 to fund the winning filmmaker to make their short documentary (less than 15 minutes) based on development issues and/or the aims of the UN (international development, peace, security and freedom). This grant can be used to cover international travel as well as production costs if desired. The film will then receive a premier at next year’s We The Peoples Film Festival in the BFI.To enter the competition, all you have to do is follow We The People’s Film Festival on twitter and tweet your pitch with the hashtag #TwPitch before Friday 4th November 2013. We will then shortlist the 20 most promising pitches, and invite the entrants to pitch live in front of a panel of experts at this years We The Peoples Film Festival Youth Film for Development Day on the Sunday 3rd November at BFI Southbank. The panel will select one winner who will receive the funding to make their film.

If you don’t have Twitter there’s no need to panic - you can also email info@wethepeoples.org.uk, the subject ‘PresentaPitch’. You’ll have to make sure the pitch is still only 140 characters long - the length of a tweet - otherwise your entry will not be eligible.

Terms & Conditions:
All entrants must be 15-25. Shortlisted entries must attend the pitching event on Sunday 3rd November 2013 for a chance to win. The final film must be about development issues. The final film must be under 15 minutes in length. The final film will need to be completed by summer 2014.

If you have any questions please email info@wethepeoples.org.uk. Good luck!
